Lay3rs sees many possibilities in the newest and perhaps the trendiest tool of our time, the 3D printer. Together with 3Dkanjers, Ultimaker and De Rolf Groep, Lay3rs supplies the most complete package for 3D printing in education !!! In the 3Dkanjers projects, we focus on teachers and pupils in primary and secondary education and on embedding in and support from the region. It is our goal to be able to offer technology to children in their own school and living environment.

Knowledge sharing and collaboration

We believe that working with the 3D printer in the classroom should be embedded in existing learning pathways within primary education. That is why the 3Dkanjers Community is continuously developing new modules and lesson cards. For and by teachers. Doing and building is learning

3Dkanjers focuses on introducing pupils in groups six, seven and/or eight (upper years) of a primary school and pupils in the lower years of secondary education to the 3D printer. On the one hand, pupils will come into contact with the possibilities of 3D printing during the lessons and, on the other hand, with building the 3D printer itself. Learning therefore starts on day 1. Building is an essential part of the learning pathway developed by 3Dkanjers. In this way, 3D printing can make an important contribution to the lesson programme within the new learning pathway ‘science and technology’, which all primary schools must have implemented in 2020.

You are not on your own

Solving (difficult) problems yourself is one of the principles of the 3Dkanjers Experience. Pupils (and teachers) experience this not only while creating and printing 3D objects, but also while building and maintaining the 3D printer. A 3D printer is not a plug-and-play device !!!

While building the printer, we work with a 3Dkanjers coach as the first point of contact for the teachers involved. This coach also gives the workshops and is the rock throughout the project (from the intake workshop through to the follow-up afternoon). If necessary, he/she comes to the school to resolve any problems. And of course we also have a professional ServiceDesk. As soon as your 3Dkanjers project has been completed, the 3Dkanjers coach transfers the support to one of the ServiceDesk employees. They are always there to help you with advice and practical support.
