Ultimaker PLA (polylactic acid) filament is made from organic and renewable sources. PLA is safe and easy to print with and is suitable for applications for both novice and advanced users. This filament is best used on the Ultimaker 2 .
Ultimaker PLA filament is supplied on a spool to improve printing convenience. The filament has good roundness and consistency. The PLA colors are opaque. The net weight is 750 grams.

Applications and software
Ultimaker PLA is intended for creating smooth and detailed prints with consistent results. Combined with Cura’s extensively tested material profile settings for Ultimaker 2+, PLA combines detailed surface quality with reliable performance.
Material choice for 3D printing
Ultimaker supplies PLA and ABS as printing materials. For the Ultimaker Original, printing with PLA is recommended. PLA is biodegradable plastic and is therefore the easiest material to print with. For printing with ABS, a heated print bed is recommended, because ABS tends to warp if it cools down too quickly. Therefore, the Ultimaker 2 is the better option if you want to print with ABS.
