Ultimaker PLA filament is intended for reliable 3D prints with good surface quality and a realistic appearance. The filament can be used on all Ultimaker printers . PLA is a biodegradable plastic made from organic and renewable sources. The material is safe and easy to print with for both novice and advanced users. Ultimaker PLA comes on a spool with an NFC chip to improve printing convenience. The filament has strong roundness and consistency. The PLA colors are not translucent.

Material choice and settings
Ultimaker supplies PLA and ABS as printing materials. For the Ultimaker Original, printing with PLA is recommended because PLA is the easiest material to print with. For printing with ABS, a heated print bed is recommended because ABS can warp when it cools too quickly. Therefore, the Ultimaker 2 is the better option when you want to print with ABS. Combined with Cura’s extensively tested material profile settings for the Ultimaker 2+, PLA combines detailed surface quality with reliable performance and consistent, smooth prints.
