The MQ6040 Lite 2 Plus is a CO2 laser cutting and laser engraving machine from MetaQuip’s entry-level range. The machine is intended for home use, schools and start-up companies and is suitable for digital design, laser cutting and laser engraving on flat sheet materials.
Laser engraving: wood, leather, cardboard, paper, cork, textiles, plastics, glass, mirrors and anodized or painted metal surfaces.
Laser cutting: thin wood, leather, textiles, paper, cork, foam and plastics such as acrylic and plexiglass.
Working area: 600 x 400 mm.
Motorized bed for height adjustment with different material thicknesses.
Manual focusing of the laser head.
Graphical controller and Laserworks laser software.
Laser class I: safe during normal use without additional protection.
CE certified and, according to the supplied information, compliant with applicable machinery directives.
Laser process and materials
During laser cutting and laser engraving, an infrared laser is focused on the material. The material locally melts or evaporates, allowing the laser to cut through the material or remove the top layer. Engraving is possible on materials including plastics, wood, cork, paper, textiles, leather, glass, mirrors and anodized or painted metal surfaces. Cutting is possible in materials including plastics, textiles, leather, wood, cork, paper and foam.
The MQ6040 Lite 2 Plus is suitable for lighter cutting work. As a general guideline, 3-5 mm material is mentioned; the achievable thickness depends on the material, the selected power and the speed. For cutting work with this machine, MetaQuip recommends the 60W version.
